JENNIFER CALANDRILLO, BROOKLYN NY
Jennifer Calandrillo is a long time NASCAR fan. In 2006 she joined SINCH (Staten Island NASCAR Hopefuls) a support committee created to help build awareness about NASCAR and to obtain governmental and residential approval to build a NASCAR race track in Staten Island NY
After the project was defeated NASCAR invited Jen and other SINCH members to attend NASCAR races and media functions in the New York City area where. There she met NASCAR drivers, team members and top officials in the sport. Eventually, she became a familiar face in the NASCAR garage and her pictures with all of NASCAR’s elites increased her popularity among other NASCAR fans.
Calandrillo moved to the Race City North Carolina area in April 2010 to pursue a career in the Motorsports industry. Shortly thereafter a FaceBook Fan Page was created for Jen. She soon came to become known as “Infield Jen” and quickly became very popular. Her popularity among NASCAR fans skyrocketed after successfully fulfilling a race fan’s request. She was asked to take a picture of a certain driver by his car and post it on social media for the fan, which she did. Shortly thereafter many race fans asked her to fulfill their specific requests as well as to seek answers to questions they had for drivers, crew members and NASCAR’s top officials. Race fans were able to dictate many of her activities at the race track. Her simple question was, “What do you want to see and what do you want to know?” Questions and requests poured into her emails and Infield Jen’s social media accounts each week.
As she contemplated her next move, Calandrillo was contacted by Brian Keselowski just 2 weeks before the 2011 Daytona 500. He hired her as his Public Relations specialist. Her first day on the job with Keselowski was the day he successfully qualified to race in the Daytona 500. She shared every emotion of that day and she continues to share her experiences with race fans across the globe.
Calandrillo and Keselowski began dating mid 2011 which unified their efforts to grow their NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Team. She successfully turned fans into sponsors and placed their names and company logos on Keselowski’s race cars during the last 4 years and continues to provide race fans with a very personal connection to herself and the Race Team.
On December 2, 2014, Calandrillo took on a new venture. She became the host of her own radio show called “Race Fans Rock”. It is the only radio show that puts the spotlight on race fans and provides an outlet for fans to share their experiences with others. Her guests include race car drivers, crew members and fans. Jen’s social media pages and website are designed to engage and invite fans to reach out to her.
In 2015 Calandrillo has several projects planned that will provide an outlet for even more race fans to connect in a further effort to help secure enough sponsorship for Brian Keselowski to compete full time in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.
