ASPIRE HIGHER RACE CAR TEAM
Kyle Morey – School Teacher & Director of Aspire Higher Race Car Team
The Aspire Higher Race Car Team is made of 45 students from Oxford Hills Middle School in South Paris, Maine/ These seventh and eighth graders are embarking on a task that no other middle school in the United States and maybe even the World has done before!
The “Aspire Higher” Super Late Model race car is being built completely by the middle schools building and engineering group, which is completely made up of these seventh and eighth grade students. We have many different teams working, such as Public Relations, Financial Management, Technology, Graphic Design, Building and Engineering, and Leadership. We meet once a week, and have so much fun!
The race car is being built at Crazy Horse Racing located in South Paris, Maine. The owners of Crazy Horse Racing are Mitch and Judy Green.
The students held driver auditions for their team and chose Spencer Morse to pilot their car. Visit http://www.spencermorseracing34.com/ to learn more about Spencer.
Our main marketing slogan/concept is “Join The Team”. Our levels of sponsorship are: Platinum 10-15K, Gold 7.5K, Silver 5K, Bronze 2.5K, Associate sponsors 1.5K-$250, Checkered Flag (on deck lid $100) and interior tin $25.
All of this is a work in progress as it is student driven and our main mission is for the students to learn. Seven of our students just presented the presentation attached with each of them speaking on different slides to our local new car dealerships. One of the marketing reps from a dealer also teaches at a local college and let our middle school students know they did a better job than the students he teaches at a college level. The kids were very happy with the feedback they received.

OHMS is a place where we are changing the idea of school. Instead of just sitting in a classroom all day, students are doing more and more hands-on activities.
Oxford Plains Speedway owner Tom Mayberry announced that the 42nd Annual Oxford 250 will move to a new date starting in 2015. The richest single day short track racing event in North America will now be contested August 28-30, 2015. The Oxford 250 will once again be a Pro All Stars Series (PASS) sanctioned, “open” Super Late Model event, with qualifying heat races and feature racing for the PASS Super Late Models on August 30 to continue the single day tradition the race has become famous for. The Oxford 250 is arguably the biggest event in short track racing.
